DME Billing Administrator

Location: Falls Church, VA

At Virginia Heart, we are looking for a professional Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Billing Administrator with experience and proficiency in all aspects of DME preauthorization, eligibility, and scheduling.  The DME Billing Administrator tracks all patient DME equipment re-supply depending on insurance requirements.  The DME Billing Administrator will work with the Sleep team to provide a consistent workflow between departments.

Virginia Heart is Northern Virginia's premier cardiovascular practice, bringing an unparalleled standard of excellence to our patients.  Virginia Heart's Sleep Center is an outpatient cardiology setting conveniently located in Falls Church and Lansdowne, VA.  It is focused on patient education, to ensure we provide patients with the ability to obtain the best results from their treatment and achieve a good night's sleep. We offer the most advanced sleep technologies, treatment, and research opportunities available, such as Inspire and eXcite OSA.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing and tracking DME orders.
    • Checking benefit / estimate out of pocket / document benefit information.
    • Scheduling patients in EPIC
    • Reviewing financial information with patient 
    • Collecting and posting payments 
  • Track all Durable Medical Equipment (DME) setups. 
  • Create follow up notes.  
  • Coordinate with Sleep provider any changes to patient prescriptions 
  • Coordinate with Sleep department to gather documentation needed for insurance authorization.
  • Create schedules for all automatic re-supply patients.
  • Create and log CMNs.
  • Indirect reporting to Patients Accounts Manager for AR management via DME software
  • Responsible for work queues via our EMR system
  • Responsible for individual tasks in Brightree 
  • Answering patient calls and returning voicemails in a timely manner
  • ERL management of rejections
  • Organizing shipping of supplies from office and fulfillment center 
  • Manage inventory of all locations 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Strong experience in Sleep Medicine or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS and all other medical billing codes.
  • Experience with multiple insurance guidelines.
  • Prior experience with the use of DME software; preferably Brightree.
  • Demonstrate computer skills appropriate for the position.
  • Demonstrate teamwork skills.
  • Follow HIPAA policies to maintain the privacy and security of patient information.
  • Comply with professional standards of conduct.
