Patient Accounts Assistant, Part-Time

Status:  Part-Time/Non-Exempt

At Virginia Heart, we are looking for a the Patient Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for to the Revenue Cycle Management Department and the Corporate office.  Responsibilities include daily scanning of payment batches, submitting medical records for Medicare Risk Adjustment requests, working up refunds to patients and insurance companies and providing customer service for the Revenue Cycle Management department, in a manner consistent with Virginia Heart’s mission of excellence in cardiovascular care..

 Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for scanning payment batches daily. Rename files consistent with standard procedure.

·         Review list of accounts that need to be worked for refunds. Research where the overpayment should be sent,  for both patient and insurance refunds.

·         Responsible for timely submission of medical records for Medicare Risk Adjustment requests.

·          Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or Assistant Manager.

Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent required

·         Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word required

·         EPIC experience preferred

·         Must possess the ability to work under pressure and communicate with manager and director about changes or concerns

·         Must possess excellent time management abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Precision and accuracy in work is required
