Virginia Heart is looking for a dependable, collaborative Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our outpatient nuclear cardiology team at our Dulles location.
This position is focused on Cardiac SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging and is ideal for a technologist who values technical quality, patient care, teamwork, and a consistent outpatient schedule.
Stone Springs will serve as the technologist’s primary work location, with flexibility to provide coverage at our Arlington imaging location when needed.

Virginia Heart is Northern Virginia's premier cardiovascular practice, providing comprehensive cardiovascular care throughout the region. Our nuclear cardiology team provides high-quality outpatient SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging across multiple locations.
What You'll Do
- Perform high-quality Cardiac SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging in accordance with departmental protocols and quality standards.
- Prepare, educate, position, and monitor patients throughout imaging and stress testing.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
- Operate gamma camera systems and perform required daily quality control.
- Review images for technical quality and identify when additional imaging or troubleshooting may be needed before the patient leaves.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, radiopharmaceutical doses, and patient information in the EMR and imaging systems.
- Follow radiation safety, infection prevention, and emergency response procedures.
- Support daily scanner readiness, department setup and shutdown, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with technologists, medical assistants, APPs, physicians, and other team members to maintain efficient workflow and positive patient experience.
- Participate in quality improvement, protocol development, education, and other departmental initiatives as assigned.
- Provide coverage at the Arlington SPECT imaging location as operationally needed.

What You Need to Bring
- NMTCB or ARRT(N) certification
- Experience performing Cardiac SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging
- Current Virginia Department of Health Professions licensure, or ability to obtain required Virginia licensure
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles, radiation safety, and patient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability, accountability, and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently while recognizing when collaboration or escalation is needed
- Strong attention to technical quality and detail
- Flexibility to provide coverage at our Arlington imaging location when needed
